Turning the bones
''Citizens of Madagascar refer to their nation as the "land of the ancestors". In many ways, theirs is a typical tribal society, and like many such societies they revere their ancestors.'' ">l
'Sex and the city' China style
''Conservative China is being shaken by a woman who does something previously unheard of - she publicly and openly discusses sex on the internet. She is constantly monitored by the authorities, but the online blogger known as Hooligan Yen says she is just expressing herself.'' ">l
''In Saudi Arabia, every woman has to have a male guardian, usually a husband or father, who makes critical decisions on her behalf.''
Love and soil, or soil and love, or in loved with soil

People and power- Curse of gold
''Human adornment is the driving force behind global demand for gold. However, for the people of western Ghana, life only gets harder as the soil under their feet gives up its cherished metal. West Ghana has more gold than anywhere else in west Africa but international demands for gold have not done anything to stop increasing poverty in the region. One villager, Teberebie, speaks out: "The heck with gold. We need soil to cultivate coco, palm trees and other food. The most vital factors are our basic needs." Mine operations in the region fail to replace traditional livelihoods. Agricultural workers are sidelined and receive less for their produce. Ghana's ground is viewed globally as a treasure but it is seen as a curse by those who live there.''
''We are talking about forests. They give us food.''

"Tè a fatige," said 70 percent of Haitian farmers in a recent survey when asked about the major agricultural problems they faced. "The earth is tired." And no wonder. Virtually since 1492, when Columbus first set foot on the heavily forested island of Hispaniola, the mountainous nation has shed both topsoil and blood—first to the Spanish, who planted sugar, then to the French, who cut down the forests to make room for lucrative coffee, indigo, and tobacco.''
soil.. that made me think such a lot why I love it so much and why I am so loyal to my roots, either u talk about love or not.love and soil, both of them are in danger by erosion because we are not interested in taking care of them.
I dreamt about a little house, with only one room, but with a little piece of land around. when I feel so bad I am afraid that is too late.
but beyond my luxurious wishes or dreams, soil is the only way to survive for millions of people. Soil is life.
''In the long run, the solution to each is restoring the most basic of all resources, the soil''
